Jalya: Visual Identity

Jalya is a collective of young activists committed to fostering intellectual and social change through open communication and dialogue. We strongly advocate for the expansion of Arab culture both geographically and culturally, striving to broaden horizons through social media platforms. Our goal was to create a visual identity that reflects Jalya’s mission and values, resonating with a diverse and engaged audience.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to create a visual identity that effectively communicates Jalya’s mission of fostering intellectual and social change while appealing to a wide and diverse audience. We needed to balance traditional Arab cultural elements with modern design trends to create a brand that is both authentic and contemporary. Ensuring consistency across various branding materials, from social media graphics to promotional materials, was essential. Additionally, the design had to convey the dynamic and activist spirit of Jalya.

Solution

To tackle these challenges, we conducted comprehensive research into Arab culture and the latest trends in social activism. Our design team created a distinctive logo that embodies the spirit of dialogue and cultural expansion. We selected a vibrant and dynamic color palette inspired by traditional Arab art and modern aesthetics, paired with contemporary typography to ensure clarity and appeal. We integrated cultural patterns and motifs into the design to add depth and authenticity. For the social media platforms, we developed engaging and visually appealing graphics that effectively communicate Jalya’s mission and values. The digital assets, including the website and promotional materials, were crafted to provide a seamless and engaging user experience, highlighting Jalya’s advocacy for intellectual and social change.
